Due to road conditions, the Knox Avenue Hill has closed to traffic. Please find alternate routes for travel.

As winter weather arrives in the Ozarks, road conditions are beginning to deteriorate. Please limit travel and allow road crews to work. Temperatures will continue to fall creating dangerous conditions when outside.

Hollister City Hall will be closed Friday, December 23rd and Monday, December 26th, in observance of the Christmas holiday. If you need assistance with utility service during this time, please contact Public Works at 417-331-0624.

Public Works has completed the repair to the water main and water has been restored. Thank you for your patience as work was completed.

Update on water line repair. . .Public Works has located the water main break on Elm Street. Water will be turned off in this area to complete the repairs. Residents and businesses in this area and downtown may be affected. We will continue to provide updates as work continues.

The City of Hollister’s Elected Officials and Staff had the honor of welcoming Congressman Billy Long to help kick-off our annual employee luncheon today with a surprise for City Administrator Rick Ziegenfuss. Congressman Long presented a Congressional Resolution to Administrator Ziegenfuss for his service to our country in the US Army and to our community. As a reminder, pet licenses are renewable each year. 2023 tags are now available at City Hall. Remember to pick up your new license by January 31st to avoid late fees.

Stepping up to the Hulland Park Christmas Tree this week are John Hagey and Alice Yeager from the Hollister Area Chamber of Commerce. The Hollister Chamber is always the first to jump in and support an initiative for the City of Hollister. From raising donations for our annual July 4th Fireworks, to celebrating Christmas on Downing Street, and everything in between, the Hollister Chamber is a prime example of a community partner. We are grateful for John, Alice and the entire Chamber Family and we hope you love this week's Hulland Park Christmas Tree.

As our winter season approaches, take a moment to review the snow removal schedule for the City of Hollister. We have listed the main streets that will be cleared first, then followed by those not listed. We also ask that you keep streets and cul-da-sacs open to allow for our equipment to remove the snow.
