Hollister has adopted several model codes as minimum standards for construction within the city.

Effective October 1, 2024, the codes the city uses are:

The Building Department performs plan reviews and reviews permit applications for compliance with the Codes. Permit fees are collected by the City Clerk’s office. Inspections on site are also done to assure that construction is in compliance with the code requirements. For more information about the International Codes click here.
